Curriculum

The early years practice at our school has been recognised by OFSTED as outstanding and is used as a model of good practice for other practitioners both in and out of the borough.
The early years curriculum in the school is totally child centred where the understanding of holistic child development is central to all learning and teaching.
All children are encouraged to plan, experience and review their learning. They assess and record their work alongside teachers using IT technology.
In the primary school the core subjects of literacy and numeracy and science are taught as discreet subjects. However these can also be incorporated into our themes where appropriate.
All foundation subjects are taught through topics and projects that have been initiated and developed by the children and staff in all classes All children and staff begin a learning journey which is closely linked to the National Curriculum. Children are set individual learning targets and staff continually assess their progress.
Creativity and innovation are encouraged in both schools for all learners. Process is seen as key to learning and individual learning styles are recognised by teachers and accommodated into planning. Deep level thinking and questioning are encouraged and exploration and planning are given development time. Flexibility is build into the planning so that individual learning paths can be explored for all children.
Our children are confident, well behaved, responsible and are excited by learning.

4 Remissions

The governors will apply the statutory minimum remissions to any charges that they make; that is in respect of pupils whose parents are in receipt of income support or income support, income based jobseekers allowance, Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit or Child Tax Credit, and have an annual income as assessed by the Inland Revenue that does not exceed £15,575, (provided they do not also receive Working Tax Credit).
